Storytime at Barnes & Noble – many BN locations offer storytime on various days throughout the weekend. The stores at University Park Village and at Overton Ridge have storytimes on March 19 at 11 a.m., while the Sundance Square store has one on March 20 at 11. The University Park Village store also has an American Girl Club event at 1 p.m. on Saturday (March 20). For more info, go to bn.com and click “Stores & Events.”
Friday, March 19:
Music at Central Market – Hear blues from Dave Millsap on the patio of Central Market in Fort Worth from 7-9:30 p.m. At the Southlake location, you can hear the Second Chance Band in the Cafe from 6-9 p.m.
Texas Pinball Festival – Admission to this festival at the Hilton DFW Lakes Executive Conference Center in Grapevine gets you free play on lots of pinball machines. Some games are geared towards kids as well as adults. Adult tickets are $15 and kids 5-12 cost $8 on Friday and Saturday; on Sunday it’s $7 for adults and $5 for kids. There’s also a raffle, contest and lots of other good stuff; see www.texaspinball.com for details.
Fort Worth Home Show – begins on Friday at 2 p.m. at Will Rogers Memorial Center. Learn about various home maintenance topics and get info from vendors. Tix are $9, or $7 for senior citizens; $1 off coupons are available at Tom Thumb.
Live on the Green – this free outdoor concert series at Watters Creek in Allen features live local bands. Starts at 6:30 p.m. Watters Creek shopping complex is at 970 Garden Park Dr. in Allen.
Saturday, March 20:
Cowtown Farmers Market – buy produce, baked goods and other products from LOCAL sellers at this market, which is open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Edelweiss Restaurant parking lot in Fort Worth. Get there early for best selection.
Houge Winery in the House, Whole Foods Arlington, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Meet the staff from this Washington winery and sample their wares.
Fort Worth Home Show – 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. See March 19 for details.
Live Music at Central Market – hear classic rock at the Central Market in Southlake from 6-9 p.m.
March of Dimes Chili Cookoff – runs from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Vandergriff Collision Center (1208 Commercial Blvd. South) in Arlington. Free event, but since this is a fundraiser, donations are appreciated. Event also includes face painting and activities for kids.
Storytime at Nash Farm – go to this farm at 626 Ball St. in Grapevine from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to hear a reading of “Charlotte’s Web” and see the farm’s pigs and spiders. Free event.

Peter Rabbit Trail – this event for kids at the Country Critters Farm features a petting zoo, train ride, bounce house and more. Admission is $7 per person. The farm is at 3709 County Rd. 617 in Alvarado. Starts 10 a.m.
Sunday, March 21:
Beach Street Local Market – support local food providers by picking up yummy stuff at this market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It’s in a parking lot at 3789 Beach Street in Fort Worth.
Fort Worth Home Show – 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; see March 19 for details.
VW Show – Show off your Volkswagen or see others’ cars at this free event at Conlon’s Pub (2528 White Settlement Rd.) in Fort Worth. There will be races for kids and adults, a ‘car bash,’ and others. Free, but donations to the Doberman Rescue of North Texas are appreciated. Begins 9 a.m.
