16 de Septiembre Parade – at 11:30 a.m. in Sundance Square on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 11:30 a.m. Participants will parade up Main Street from the convention center to 4th Street,  then south on Houston. Bring lawn chairs and enjoy the show, which kicks off National Hispanic Heritage Month.

Grapefest – family-friendly fun in Grapevine through Sept. 14. Wine sampling, live entertainment, carnival/midway, LEGO kids events, and more. Kids admission $5, adult admission $8. Wine tasting and other attractions carry additional cost. See complete ticket details here.

$2 Kids Movies at Studio Movie Grill – Saturday, Sept. 13 at 11 a.m. $2 per person admission. Featured film is “Caillou” in Colleyville and Arlington. Find tickets here.

Animals Alive in the Stockyards – from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13 at Stockyards Station. Enjoy Armadillo races, Cowcamp, a petting zoo, pony rides, exotic animal presentations and more! Free.

Second Saturday at Sid Richardson Museum – on Saturday, Sept 13. At 2 p.m., participate in a guided tour of an extraordinary group of paintings by Frederic Remington, Charles Russell and other late 19th century artists who shaped the public’s perception of the American West. At 3 p.m., a live performance by Roberta Atkins highlights the career of cowboy artist, Charles Russell, told from the perspective of his wife, Nancy Cooper Russell.

Independent Film at The Modern – various showtimes Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 13-14. Featured film is “Love is Strange” with John Lithgow and Alfred Molina. Tickets are $9; Sunday 12 p.m. show is half price. Details here.

Tours of Newly Renovated Broadway Baptist Church – on Sunday, Sept. 14. Ribbon cutting with Mayor Betsy Price at 10 a.m. From 1-3 p.m., free guided tours of renovated sanctuary, its stained glass windows and the 10,000-pipe organ.

Star Wars Days at LEGOLAND Discovery Center – From Sept. 13-14.
