This weekend, Sept. 26-28 is the South Street Art Festival in downtown Arlington. This is the second annual installation of this festival, which features the work of 75 artists from across the country. Come to the festival – admission is free – and check out their work. You can also hear live performances from 10 local bands – see a music schedule here. Bring your appetite for the many food vendors that will be on hand. (No coolers are allowed.) Well-behaved, leashed dogs can come along.
Hours of the festival are 5-11 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Find parking details here. A map of the festival attractions can be found here.
Note for those who have kids: the festival’s website says, “While supervised young children and teenagers are welcome, there are no activities specifically planned for them.”
