Free Kids' Events at Many Places This Weekend

There’s plenty to keep the kiddos occupied this weekend. Here’s the lowdown:

Toys R Us – Stop by your local TRU on Sept. 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for free giveaways, a storytime and coloring fun, all centered around Thomas the Train. Call your store ahead of time to make sure they’re participating.

Bass Pro Shops – on Sept. 11 and 12 from noon to 5 p.m., Bass Pro stores will hold a U.S. Army Celebration complete with a free obstacle course, bean bag toss, coloring activities and more.

Barnes & Noble Storytimes – the B&N at University Park Village in FW will have a “Jacob’s Fishing Day Storytime” on Sept. 11 at 11 a.m., and the Hulen Center location (on Overton Ridge) will have a “German Heritage Storytime” on Sept. 11 at 11 a.m.

Watters Creek Lucky Duck Kids Club – Register now to attend their patriotic kids’ event in honor of Sept. 11. It’s on Saturday from 5-6 p.m. Watters Creek is in Allen.

Arts, Antiques & Autos Extravaganza – in Denton on Sept. 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lots of stuff for kids and adults alike. Free admission. See here for more info.
