Want to get the kids out of the house? Take them to one (or all) of these free events taking place on Saturday, Feb. 27:

Free For Kids: Lowe's, Veggie Tales, Michael's CraftsLowe’s Build & Grow Workshop – Kids can make a free LoweBot (a car that turns into a robot) at their local Lowe’s from 10-11 a.m. Go to www.lowesbuildandgrow.com to find your store and RSVP.

Veggie Tales Movie – take your kids to a local Family Christian Store for a screening of the Veggie Tales movie, “Pistachio: The Little Boy that Woodn’t.” The show is free, and the first 40 Free For Kids: Lowe's, Veggie Tales, Michael's Craftskids receive a poster and balloon. Everyone gets free coloring pages and stickers. Showtimes are 10 a.m., 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. If you decide to do some shopping, take along a coupon for 20 percent off your entire purchase.

Michael’s Craft – From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at your local Michael’s craft store on Feb. 27, your kids can participate in a “Science Fair Make-It Take-It” workshop. They can build a free 3D molecule model using Crayola products, while supplies last. The store will also be doing a “science explorer demonstration” where kids can set up a color mixing lab, grow crystals and more. As always, call your store ahead of time to make sure they’re participating.
