DFW’s next Restaurant Week is August 17-23. If you like eating at nice restaurants, this is a fantastic deal, because you can get a 3-course prix fixe dinner for $35 per person (excluding beverage, tax and tip). Plus, for every dinner you buy, $7 gets donated to the North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope Home. You get good food, they get some money, everybody wins.
But there is a catch. Because this is such a deep discount, each restaurant only has a limited number of dinners it can sell. So you have to make your reservations early! The restaurants will start accepting reservations on July 13. Just call and tell them you want “KRLD Restaurant Week reservations.” You can also book them online at www.opentable.com.
Now, on to the most obvious question: Where, exactly, will you be eating? You can see the list of participating restaurants here. Some of the options in Fort Worth include Buttons, Bistro Louise, Bonnell’s, Mercury Chop House, Cattlemen’s and Del Frisco. (My personal favorite out of all of these is Ruffino’s, a great, quiet place on Forest Park.)’s
Note that you will only have a limited selection of menu items to choose from. If you’re unsure whether you would enjoy the entrees offered, ask what kind of food will be served before making your reservations.
If you want to get even more out of Restaurant Week, you can get a “Fourth Course Certificate” from Central Market free with any purchase of $25 or more through August 30 (while supplies last). This entitles you to a free fourth course at some of the participating restaurants. (When making your reservation, ask whether they’re accepting the certificate.)
