Best Pumpkin Patches Near Fort Worth

Fall weather is finally here – so if you have kids, you may be thinking about taking them out to a pumpkin patch to celebrate! Luckily, there are several great patches near Fort Worth. Here’s the skinny:

Mainstay Farm – this pumpkin patch is in Cleburne, 5 miles south of Burleson. We went to this one last year and my boys had a blast! They can slide, ride pedal cars, look at farm animals and yes, even bring a pumpkin home. (They cost extra, though.) Their “Family Pumpkin Days” will be on Oct. 16 and 23 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Adults are $9, kids are $8 and kids 2 and under are free. For more info, visit Mainstay Farm’s website.

Pumpkin Express – located in Argyle, halfway to Denton. Open every day through Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission to the pumpkin patch and a train ride is $5 per person. Kids 2 and under can ride the train free. For more info, call (940) 241-2608.

Country Critters Farm – located in Alvarado, south of Burleson. They’re open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from 1-5 p.m., but get there before 4 p.m. because that’s when they close the gates. Activities include bounce houses, petting zoo, hayride and a maze. All families get to pick a jack o’lantern sized pumpkin, too (while supplies last). Admission is $8. Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch – located on the Double Oak Ranch in Flower Mound. Admission is free. Kids can enjoy bounce houses, hay-bale mazes, face painting and many other activities. Pumpkins are also available for purchase but you are not obligated to buy. Open from 9 a.m. to dusk every day. For more info, visit their site.

Gnismer Farms – located in Arlington. They have a fun fall maze for kids to run through, and once you get through it, you can buy a pumpkin at the end. Hours are Tuesday-Sunday, 1-8 p.m., but call in case of rain to make sure they’re open. Visit their site for more info.
