Along with all the other back to school costs, it is now time to make sure your kids are up-to-date on their immunizations. Whether you have insurance or not, those vaccines and office visits can cost a pretty penny. But did you know there are ways to cut those costs, too?

We’ve rounded up the offices and clinics which offer free, cheap, and deeply discounted back to school vaccinations so your family can stay in top health! Just remember to keep track of your vaccine records- some offices will not immunize without them.

TOTALLY FREE

Remember that anyone who has Medicaid or CHIP is eligible for free vaccines at most clinics. For those who are uninsured or underinsured, you can find free or cheap vaccines at most locations on this list.

Pedi Place – This non-profit offers free office visits and vaccines but there may be fees for other services like lab work, sick visits, etc. You must have a well-child visit before they will administer vaccines, you can’t just walk in and out. They accept Medicaid and CHIP and offer sliding scale fees but no family who is unable to pay will be turned away.

Red Bird Health Clinic – This location works with Medicaid and Chip. For those who are uninsured or underinsured, all shots are $13 a piece. However, on the 3rd Thursday of each month, vaccinations are totally free.

Dallas ISD – Dallas ISD is partnering with the Caring Foundation of Texas to provide free vaccines at mobile clinics across the region. Check out these following dates and locations:

  • Herbert Marcus Elementary School– 2911 Northaven Road {During school hours}
  • Kennedy Curry Middle School– 6605 Sebring, September 13 {During school hours}
  • Emmett J. Conrad High School– 7502 Fair Oaks Ave., September 14 {9 am – 11:30 am}
  • Robert T. Hill Middle School– 505 Easton Rd., September 16 {5 pm – 7 pm}
  • Ellis David Field House– 9191 S. Polk, September 18 {5 pm – 8 pm}
  • Piedmont G.L.O.B.A.L.  Academy– 7625 Hume Dr., September 19 {During school hours}
  • Seagoville Middle School– 950 N Woody Rd., September 25 {During school hours}
  • Hector P. Garcia Middle School– 700 E 8th St., September 27 {During school hours}
  • W. H. Adamson High School– 309 E 9th St., September 28 {9 am – 11:30 am}
  • T.W. Browne Middle School, 3333 Sprague Dr., September 30 {During school hours}
  • H. Grady Spruce High School, 9733 Old Seagoville Rd., November 16, {9 am – 11:30 am}

 

CHEAP VACCINES

Mission East Dallas – This clinic works with Medicaid and CHIP as well as those who are uninsured and underinsured. You are also eligible for services if you are American Indian or Alaskan Native. Vaccines are $5 each.

Health Services of North Texas – This organizations works with Wylie’s Children’s Pediatric Clinic to provide free office visits and vaccines. They also offer sliding scale options for those who are uninsured and do not have Medicaid or CHIP.

MD Kids Pediatrics Clinics – With several locations around Dallas, these clinics are easy to access. They work with Medicaid and Chip as well as health insurance providers.

Children’s Health Pediatric Group – This clinic works with Medicaid and Chip and also offers their own assistance program as well as sliding scale fees. If you do not qualify for Medicaid and Chip, you can apply for their assistance program to pay for vaccines.

Dallas County Health and Human Services {DCHHS} — DCHHS offers walk-in immunizations in several locations around DFW. They offer inexpensive vaccines for eligible children through the Texas Vaccines for Children Program. Kids under 18 can get all necessary immunizations for $10 per child for the first visit and $5 per child for subsequent visits. Visit any of the following locations:
