I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned what a good value the plays at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center are. This wonderful organization is dedicated to bringing art to Fort Worth, at a price we can all afford. They also have visual arts displays and music performances, but the theatre performances (in my opinion) are what really stand out.
For example, right now they’re featuring a rendition of the Shakespeare-inspired “Kiss Me Kate,” through Aug. 15. Tickets are anywhere from $6 to $15. It’s a great deal, and you’ll spend far less than you would for a night at Bass Hall or the Dallas Symphony.
Looking for something free? Try one of their art exhibits. Right now, the “Presidential Portraits” display by Julie Lyon is up, and it won’t cost you a dime to check it out.
They’re located at 1300 Gendy Street. To see the entire schedule of upcoming theater performances, visit this link.
