A new exhibit coming up at the museum will celebrate Sam F, a work by Jean-Michel Basquiat which was created by the artist in 1985 during a visit to Dallas. The installation celebrates the city as well as the museum where Basquiat stayed at the May residence for several weeks. This famed artwork was produced by this prolific artist as an oil on a door, quite apt for Basquiat who liked to work with salvaged materials. This museum exhibit is a must attend in Dallas Fort Worth in July.

An interesting lecture offered by the Kimbell museum in Dallas is all about discovering the artistic splendor of the cast bronze sculptures produced in Tamil Nadu, South India from the 9th to the 13th centuries. These sculptures were immensely popular for their sensuous and compelling motifs. On the other hand, in Cambodia, masons carved divine figures on the sandstone walls of Hindu temples. Both these artistic masterpieces will be brought to life through illustrations and photographs gathered from field work in India and Cambodia, during this interesting lecture.
